Chartered Quality Institute (CQI).
The Chartered Quality Institute is the chartered body for quality management professionals. Established in 1919, it gained a Royal Charter in 2006 and became the CQI shortly afterwards in January 2007. The CQI’s vision is to place quality at the heart of every organisation. It exists to benefit the public by advancing education in, knowledge of and the practice of quality in industry, commerce, the public sector and the voluntary sectors. In short, the CQI exists to help make business better.
Academy of Certified Businesses (ACB)
The ACB was originally established by the Registrar of Standards Group (ROS) as a mechanism to augment the ways in which certified/registered businesses advertise themselves. Recognising, that many certified and registered businesses do not take full advantage of their awards when conducting their business on a day-to-day basis. All ACB members are certified to national/international standards or an approved management system.
Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH)
IOSH is Europe's leading body for health and safety professionals. It aims to regulate and steer the profession, maintaining standards and providing impartial, authoritative guidance on health and safety issues. Their main aim is to promote awareness of health and safety matters in the workplace and ensure that high standards are achieved and maintained. IOSH is the conduit for knowledge, opinion and research on many important matters affecting the health and safety profession.
Institute of Constructional Safety (ICS)
The ICS is the foremost professional body dedicated to the continuous improvement of safety standards in the built and construction environment. Its objectives include; to provide a focus, and unite in a common purpose, all those interested in reducing injuries, damage and losses during the construction, maintenance and demolition of man-made structures. Also, to encourage research into safer designs, construction methods, maintenance procedures and demolition techniques.
Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA)
An organisation established to promote best practice standards in environmental management, auditing and assessment. The Institute offers ongoing support to environmental professionals and aims to promote sustainability through improved environmental practice and performance. It is now a leading international organisation dedicated to the promotion of sustainable development, and to the professional development of individuals involved in the environmental profession.
International Institute of Risk and Safety Management (IIRSM)
The IIRSM is a professional body for health and safety practitioners. The Institute was established in 1975 and has members in over 70 countries. It was created to advance professional standards in accident prevention and occupational health throughout the world. Membership is open to all individuals who have an interest in occupational health, safety and risk management. The Institute’s main objective is to advance public education in accident prevention and occupational health in industry.
IOSH Licensed Training
Nearly 100,000 people every year take part in IOSH health and safety training. Working Safely is a one-day course for staff from any sector. It provides grounding in the essentials of health and safety – everyone at work should have an understanding of why they must ‘work safely’ and this course offers exactly that. Working Safely introduces a completely new approach to health and safety training and offers all the basics in a high impact interactive package.
Social Care in Partnership (South East) - SCiP (SE).
One of the four Regional Social Care Partnerships in Wales Renamed - Social Care in Partnership (SE) -SCiP (SE), the other three being in SW Wales, Mid Wales and North Wales. They were established to enable employers and other key stakeholders within the social care sector, to work together to address some of the key challenges that face the sector along with facilitating a partnership approach toward Social Care learning, training and assessment issues in South East Wales.
Social Care In Partnership (South West) – SCIP (SW)
Is the corporate identity taken by the Regional Social Care Partnership for South West Wales, which supports the Neath Port Talbot, Swansea, Carmarthenshire and Pembrokeshire counties. It is the Partnerships role to enhance, support and raise awareness of the social care sector across the region. Members include employers & staff from the independent and voluntary sectors, local authority social services, learning providers as well as individuals such as carers and service users.
Welsh Vision Welsh Business (WVWB)
Is a business evaluation and certification scheme which places emphasis upon the core values of quality, business strategy, environment, training, community and safety. The scheme is open to businesses from any sector, who have their main activities and/or base within the Principality. Certification is dependent upon the business meeting the scheme objectives and passing independent verification against the criteria. WVWB membership adds value and will set your business apart.
Construct Wales
Construct Wales is built on a partnership between ConstructionSkills and Constructing Excellence, and uses ERDF funding, provided through the Welsh Assembly Government. ConstructionSkills was set up to deliver an industry-standard method of training and certificating for anyone who works in construction. Whilst, the primary role of Construction Excellence in Wales (CEW) is to raise awareness of the need to improve working practices within the industry itself.
